Have you found yourself in a situation where you needed to pretend that “of course you had the collateral material” when you actually didn’t?
When I was recently submitting a web design offer to a company, their application suggested uploading one piece of “collateral material specifically illustrating the service being offered”. I realized I actually didn’t have anything that specific, as I usually can present my online portfolio etc. Given all the image details and limits, plus a few minutes of time, I opened Photoshop and threw my latest web designs in. Maybe it’s far from high art but I’m just hoping that it serves the purpose and communicates that one simple, yet crucial to my survival, message: We design websites and we do it well.
