Emotions at work

Couple of weeks ago I created this 36×48″ poster for a fundraiser for EDEYO, organization helping the poorest children in Haiti’s Port-au-Prince.

As much as it was one of the most rewarding (not in a financial meaning obviously) projects, it was also very hard to focus on. When you go through a footage like that, how do you keep your mind clear and creativity flowing to do the job… Not only I do get emotional over the world that surrounds me but, from almost technical point of view, sometimes I catch myself having a little trouble manipulating the photographs of people, especially if I’m about to remove some or add effects to their faces… It’s almost as if I was afraid that I could be affecting them in some way. Do you, fellow designers, get that interesting feeling sometimes?
